Another new group for the autumn
A 'Wine appreciation' goup has been set up to start in September, with the purpose of trying and discussing a range of wines. The group will meet at the home of one of the two group leaders. During the Autumn, Winter and early Spring, meetings will be 16.00 - 18.00 but during the summer - May to August it is hoped to meet a little later - 18.00 - 20.00. Group members will take it in turns to share wine and a contribution towards snacks will be expected.
Mah Jong group is meeting on the fourth Monday afternoon at Grove Church Hall
WhatsApp walking group - does involve walking, not too far and invites others to join when the sun is shining and members wish to have company on a local stroll. Hopefully this has been used during the summer.
Summer Tea
On Tuesday 21st July we replaced our usual series of talks with a summer tea, held in Grove Church Hall. Yet another hot afternoon but we were refreshed with cups of tea alongside a wonderful selection of sandwiches and sausage rolls and some very generous scones, severed with cream and jam. The only discussion wa which of these went on first!
Thank you to evryone who helped organise this event which was enjoyed by all present and provided an opportunity for some chatting and socialising.
Our next coffee morning for new members will be on Friday 18th September 10.30-11.30 am at the Vale & Downland Museum, 19 Church Street, Wantage, OX12 8BL. If you miss that one the next opportunity will be Friday 16th October and then Friday 20th November.
